DEMARC Extensions

DEMARC (Demarcation Point) is the location that your local telephone company or internet provider delivers service to your place of business. This could include your main telephone room in your building or a service box on the outside of the building.

A DEMARC extension is a service where a technician extends the customer's existing telephone or data service from the DEMARC to the customer's network equipment (IT room). This service typically includes running new cabling from the DEMARC to the customer's equipment and testing with the service provider. A DEMARC extension is important because it allows the customer to have more flexibility in where their network equipment is located.
